Dr. Rimmy, Director Singla Mediclinic said that the federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India(FOGSI) had recently asked its members to defer new treatments for fertility care.

Dr. Rimmy Singla suggests, spend quality time during the coronavirus crisis that can help couples to reduce stress, be more reproductive and create meaningful family moments. Apps and other technology offer ways to stay connected with those outside the home.

There’s a big connection between your overall health and your reproductive health. “Good diet, regular exercise, a healthy body weight, better sleep patterns, less stress — all those things have been correlated with egg quality and sperm quality” Dr. Rimmy Singla says.

Tips to improve your egg quality and sperm quality:

Maintain a healthy weight Some research suggests that increasing body mass index (BMI) is linked with decreasing sperm count and sperm movement.

Eat a healthy diet Choose plenty of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in antioxidants — and might help improve sperm health & egg quality

Manage stress Stress can decrease sexual function and interfere with the hormones needed to produce sperm.

Get moving Moderate physical activity can increase levels of powerful antioxidant enzymes, which can help protect sperm.

“We have three key recommendations for patients receiving routine prenatal care: Limit clinic visits to those that require in-person services (like ultrasounds and lab tests); encourage virtual visits for care that can be done remotely; provide support to pregnant women”, says Director Singla Mediclinic Obstetrician, Gynecologist &IVF Specialist, Dr. Rimmy Singla. ·

We are encouraging patients to have a telephone or skype consultations as an alternative to face to face when and where possible.

Appointments requiring clinic visits such as scans, consents, procedures etc will be continuing as normal.
