Dr. Rimmy Singla advice during covid-19 crisis

Dr. Rimmy Singla said that while staying at home and sequestering oneself from others is essential to protect one’s physical health, it can lead to increased anxiety, distress, and/or depression. Here are some useful coping strategies during these trying times from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Mental Health Professional Group:

Keep in touch with friends and family through FaceTime, Zoom, emails or other platforms.

Take advantage of the many free classes being offered online, from exercise groups to academic courses. Friends are using online group meetings to have virtual happy hours or dinners together.

Using social media to stay in touch can be enormously helpful, but make sure you use credible and reliable news sources to get information. Limit your intake of the news, as large doses. as well as misinformation, which can trigger negative emotional reactions.

Stay Home, Stay Safe!

Dr. Rimmy Singla, Director Singla Mediclinic Guide to Fertility and Conception during Covid-19 Pandemic

Dr. Rimmy, Director Singla Mediclinic said that the federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India(FOGSI) had recently asked its members to defer new treatments for fertility care.

Dr. Rimmy Singla suggests, spend quality time during the coronavirus crisis that can help couples to reduce stress, be more reproductive and create meaningful family moments. Apps and other technology offer ways to stay connected with those outside the home.

There’s a big connection between your overall health and your reproductive health. “Good diet, regular exercise, a healthy body weight, better sleep patterns, less stress — all those things have been correlated with egg quality and sperm quality” Dr. Rimmy Singla says.

Tips to improve your egg quality and sperm quality:

Maintain a healthy weight Some research suggests that increasing body mass index (BMI) is linked with decreasing sperm count and sperm movement.

Eat a healthy diet Choose plenty of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in antioxidants — and might help improve sperm health & egg quality

Manage stress Stress can decrease sexual function and interfere with the hormones needed to produce sperm.

Get moving Moderate physical activity can increase levels of powerful antioxidant enzymes, which can help protect sperm.

“We have three key recommendations for patients receiving routine prenatal care: Limit clinic visits to those that require in-person services (like ultrasounds and lab tests); encourage virtual visits for care that can be done remotely; provide support to pregnant women”, says Director Singla Mediclinic Obstetrician, Gynecologist &IVF Specialist, Dr. Rimmy Singla. ·

We are encouraging patients to have a telephone or skype consultations as an alternative to face to face when and where possible.

Appointments requiring clinic visits such as scans, consents, procedures etc will be continuing as normal.

Three main suspected signs and symptoms of Hernia

Hernia Surgery including Inguinal, Ventral, umbilical & Incisional.

Dr. Raman Singla says,” Hernia occurs when an organ especially small intestine protrudes through a muscle weakened spot or tear in the abdominal wall and increased abdominal pressure”. Hernias cause a bulge or lump in the groin, umbilicus or surgical incision which is not properly closed. If the protruding intestine is not pushed back in place, the contents of hernia might be trapped in the abdominal wall, then becoming strangulated which cuts off blood supply to surrounding tissue that is trapped. If it is left untreated, the size of protruding intestine might get bigger and become strangulated leading to the reduction of blood flow to surrounding tissues. Severe complications include bowel obstruction & necrotizing enterocolitis(severe inflammation of the intestines) & sepsis. In order to reduce the severity and complications of hernia, hernia repair surgery herniorrhaphy to return the displaced intestine to a proper position.

Dr. Raman Singla(Best Laparoscopic Surgeon Mohali) specialise in Laparoscopic Hernioplasty-Inguinal, umblical & incisional hernia repair. He has successfully performed more than 8000 Laparoscopic Hernia surgeries.
